Online MSN-Nursing Education
36 credit hours | 225 clinical hours*
Our online MSN-Nursing Education offers a path to teaching effective approaches to touchstone aspects of nursing such as clinical practice and evidence-based theory. This MSN equips nursing professionals to sit for their Certified Nurse Educator (CNE®) examination. Course topics highlight foundational and specialized areas within nursing education, including:Â
- Teaching and learning theoryÂ
- Prevention and population healthÂ
- Leadership and health policy
- Teaching strategies for health care professionalsÂ
Graduates of the MSN-Nursing Education program will be prepared to integrate scientific findings from multiple disciplines to enhance nursing care, leverage patient care technologies and apply advanced knowledge to influence health care outcomes. They’ll be prepared to utilize educational theories and academic strategies to develop curricula, facilitate learner development and advance nursing practice in both educational and clinical settings.
*On-campus clinical hours are required to meet the clinical objectives as set forth by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing for any MSN degree. Students are expected to attend the on-campus clinical experiences for NURS 653: Advanced Health Assessment to complete the required 45 clinical hours in two separate on-campus visits.
